Powersys: Winning Sponsors

Powersys, through its products PSIM and Power Forge, has sponsored two teams (Eolympique and OilForce) from IUT Saint Denis and Paris 13 University for the GIM’EOLE 2019.

Our useful sponsorship leads the teams to the podium of the competition.

Few weeks ago, the teams participated to the 12th edition. 25 teams from 18 IUTs fought for the first price in Roanne (Jean Monnet University of Saint-Etienne).
Both registered in the Ultimate Category, Eolympique and OilForce finished on the second and third ranking.

PSIM Software

Our software has been used by the students for different points:

  • As a solution to connect an urban wind turbine to the « low voltage » electrical power distribution network
  • To design high-power industrial solution with PMSM and wind turbine
  • To inject electrical power on the network for self-consumption

But that’s not all, PSIM has lot of more possibilities! To sum up and propose you an abstract of the using of PSIM:

The wind turbine mode combined to the Motor Drive Module, can simulate wind power systems. In addition to the models, PSIM also includes pre-built examples for the following three most commonly used wind power system structures. These examples provide an excellent starting point for custom wind power system design and analysis.

  • Double-fed induction generator (DFIG) based
  • Permanent magnet synchronous generator based
  • Squirrel-cage induction generator based
