With the new version, it is now possible to automatically generate a FMU from a Simulink sub-system. The user just has to select his sub-system in the dedicated menu. Then the Easy FMI Add-on will set up and generate the FMU without any other action from the user). It will save your time and avoid mishandling.
Possibility to add files in the FMU
With the new version, it is now possible to load additional files in the FMU. Indeed, some Simulink models require additional files to be run (S-functions, Simscape files, m-files…). To take into account those files, 2 options have been added:
The possibility to include one specific file in the FMU (next to the Simulink model),
The possibility to include all the files located in the slave model folder.
Access to the Simulink Slave during the co-simulation
With the new version, it is now possible to open the Slave Simulink model during a co-simulation.
An option has been added during the generation of the FMU. Using it, the user can choose to open or not the slave model during the co-simulation. When activated, the user will be able to access the internal slave circuit and could for example get the internal scopes or variables during the co-simulation.
Access to the Simulink Slave simulation options from the master
With the new version, the user is now able to control the slave simulation options directly from the master. Different FMU parameters allow him to :
Change the solver time step option (variable / fixed time step)
Modify the slave time step (in sec).
Before that, rebuild the FMU was necessary.
Graphical interface improvements
The graphical interface of the slave part has been remodeled to distinguish the different functionalities. Now, the “Options” view is divided in 2 parts:
“FMU Parameters”: presents some options that are considered as FMU parameters and can be modified from the master software,
“Other options”: presents functionalities concerning the generation of the FMU
Before that, rebuild the FMU was necessary.
Also, with the new version, the numbers of inputs / outputs of the FMU is now theoretically unlimited (non-limited by the Easy FMI Add-on for Matlab/Simulink).
Since EMTP-RV is also compatible with the standard FMI® (from EMTP-RV 3.5), you can use your models from Simulink® with your power systems modeled in EMTP-RV.
As part of our rebranding efforts, Powersys is updating this website to better communicate and engage with our valued clients. To provide the best possible support, we’re revamping the user interface, a project that will take place through early 2023.
