The objective is to describe the sub systems which constitute a solar power system.
The descriptions end with their mathematical modelling in order to get access to the performance and the sizing of a solar power system in its mission with its environmental constraints. The training ends with 4 solar applications involving 2 fixed and 2 mobile examples.
Audience description
The training is dedicated to engineers or company managers willing to install solar power systems with new technologies.
Training information
Theoretical and practical
Language: English
Each participant will have to bring a personal computer. PSIM temporary licenses will be provided for the duration of the course.

Antoine Capel received the Ph.D. degree from the University of Toulouse, France in 1966. After teaching at Toulouse and at the University of Pernambouc in Brazil, he joined the European Space Agency as a power system engineer. In 1983 he joined Alcatel Espace in Toulouse, France, as head of the Power System Simulation division. Dr. Capel holds 7 U.S. patents, and is a Senior Member of the IEEE. He is a regular participant in PESC, and served as General Chair of PESC 85 in Toulouse. He initiates in 1972 the process of regular European Space Power conferences and was a permanent member of its board until 2002. He retires in 2002 but keeps in touch with the technique as visiting professor of the University Rovira I Virgili of Tarragone (Spain). His activity, there, deals with the development of clean energy power systems for mobile.
